History of the Racquet Club of the South (Rem: It would be great if you could scare up some really old photos of the facility…like when it was first built, etc. and put in a paragraph or two about the REALLY old history of the place…and also mention some of the recent noteworthy achievements—like Melanie Oudin, etc., the $1M renovation, etc.)
Not Just a Place For Tennis Activities at RCS are not exclusively of the sports and recreation nature. In addition to Tennis Tournaments, the renown RCS Academy and numerous sporting events, the Racquet Club of the South has been host to a number musical concert events (with such national musical acts as “Atlanta Rhythm Section”, the Atlanta-based sensation “Banks & Shane”, “Southern Bred”, and others). RCS is also continually hosts a variety of holiday-themed parties and special events, as well as various private and corporate functions.
Growing Into the Future In the future, RCS will continue to expand the scope of its concert and event activities, while also continuing its regimen of facility maintenance and upgrades that will enhance the concert and event experience for audiences. Through a commitment to Green, eco-friendly renovations and upgrades that will continually manifest in numerous planned facility enhancements, RCS strives to evolve as a world-class facility and a “jewel in the crown” of Gwinnett County and the Greater Atlanta community.
